Lucila’s Homemade was founded out of a desire to bring to America the treats Lucila grew up with in Argentina.  It is our mission to produce unique and traditional hand-crafted pastries, and make them available at gourmet grocers, specialty coffee and tea shops, farmers markets and online.

Lucila’s Homemade is currently specializing in “alfajores”

(pronounced al-fa-hor-es).  Alfajores are pastries consisting of

two soft and crumbly cookies sandwiched with a thick layer of

“dulce de leche” (creamy caramel).

Lucila’s Homemade alfajores are handcrafted using unique

artisanal techniques.  Each cookie starts with the simple

ingredients of flour, sugar and cornstarch and local organic

eggs and butter from farmer-owned farms. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First, the dough is rolled out in uniform thickness, cut and baked.

Then, the alfajores are filled with delicious dulce de leche.  Finally,

they are rolled in coconut (traditional) or covered in Belgian

chocolate (dark or white).  Whether eaten during breakfast, as a

snack or for dessert, any time is the right time to enjoy an alfajor.

Lucila’s Homemade alfajores are as much a work of art as they are
